Supported Environments
- Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 2003 server, Windows 2008 server and Windows 7
- Active Directory – Windows 2003, 2008
Components that will be installed on your system:
- Aprigo NINJA UI (Adobe AIR)
- Aprigo Collection Service (ACS) – scans your local & remote file systems (meta-data only, the ACS doesn’t open files) and Active Directory
- The crawler collects meta data information, we do not open files or look at content
Pre-requisites and minimal requirements:
- Adobe AIR to run the Aprigo NINJA UI – if you do not have AIR installed you will be prompted to do so during Aprigo NINJA installation
- An Internet connection (port 443 open – outbound HTTPS)
- For best performance we recommend that you install Aprigo NINJA on a system with: 2GB ram, core 2 duo 2.0 GHZ and 50GB hard drive
- Aprigo NINJA requires a domain account and will scan targets (shares and folders) that are available for the configured account
Installing Aprigo NINJA takes less than 5 minutes:
- Download and install Aprigo NINJA
- Configure Aprigo Collection Service
- Run a scan and load a dahboard
- Optional – Install Aprigo Collection Service on a remote machine
We currently support 2 deployment options:
- Basic (local ACS) – UI and ACS installed on the same system.
- Advanced (remote ACS) – the ACS is deployed on a different system.
- Click on ‘Download NINJA PRO’ to download and install Aprigo NINJA client. Follow the installation set-up instructions
- If you do not have AIR installed the installer will direct you to the Adobe AIR installer site.
- Login to Aprigo NINJA (same credentials that you used for the Aprigo website)
- Configure Aprigo Collection Service (ACS)
Once you hit connect you should see two green lights indicating that ACS is configured
Hit the button to ‘Run a Scan’ and define your scan properties
Advanced option – Remote ACS
- Deploy a remote ACS – download and install the ACS directly on the machine you would like to have the ACS running. You can get the ACS installer from:
- or, click on the ACS download link
- Once the ACS is installed, from the Settings interface – click on ‘Collection Service’ and configure the Remote Aprigo Collection Service (ACS):
Click on the Drop-down menu to load an archived scan to the Dashboard

Troubleshooting
If you haven’t received and activation email it may be because it was placed in a spam or junk email folder. Please watch for email from ts@aprigo.com.
If you can’t locate the email please contact aprigo at:

I can’t find the download link to the Aprigo NINJA software
Once you login to aprigo.com click the ‘Download NINJA’ button.
Anti-virus and Aprigo NINJA
If installation or upgrade were incomplete or left the application in an unknown state, please disable the anti-virus and re-install.
Some Anti-Virus products can slow down application performance. If you are experiencing such problem we recommend that you white-list or exclude Aprigo in your Anti-Virus product.
Exclude the Aprigo folder and subfolders (under the install directory) from scans and auto protection.
I have a web proxy in my environment
Aprigo NINJA product works with most web proxy environments. In cases where a web proxy environment isn’t supported automatically you will not be able to run scans or view reports. To verify that this is the case, go to the settings page and look for the ACS in online mode indicator at the top left, if it is off (grey) it means Aprigo wasn’t able to establish connection through your web proxy. We can help configure the Aprigo NINJA manually to support your advanced web proxy environment, please contact aprigo at:

I can’t scan mapped drives
Aprigo currently supports local drives or UNC path. Instead of the mapped drive please use a full UNC path to the target share.
When using the application I get a ‘Can’t connect to ACS’ error message
You might receive a can’t connect to ACS error message in the following cases
1) The ACS (Aprigo Collection Service) service is down. If that is the case please start the ACS service
2) You are connecting to an ACS that is assigned to a different user. For security reasons Aprigo assigned an ACS to first user who connected and authenticated. Please ensure that you are logging in with the correct user name and that you are connecting to the correct ACS.
